Our principal clients are large financial institutions such as banks with corporate, retail and investment arms. In addition, we have undertaken substantial modelling work for wealth management and private banking operations, including work in multiple offshore financial centres such as the Isle of Man, Guernsey, Geneva and Monaco.
In the main, our projects involve the development of (1) credit risk models and/or (2) modelling methodologies, to support credit risk operations and compliance with Basel II. We build portfolio-level models (e.g. for problems related to economic capital) as well as more granular, Basel II-style credit risk models.
White Kite has undertaken model-related work with firms other than banks, including model strategy work with a major rating agency. We have also designed and built a platform for a specialist consultancy that provides macroeconomic and asset value forecasts to the shipping industry.
The development and maintenance of risk models will be a continuing priority for financial institutions. At the same time that some banks will be consolidating their investments in Basel II and seeking operational efficiencies, other banks will be in the middle of programs that advance their status under this evolving framework.
Other firms (such as hedge funds, insurance companies, specialist agencies and advisory bodies) will be actively investing in the development of risk models to support their portfolios and address new markets.
Going forward, White Kite will continue to work with a broad spectrum of firms, focusing on those areas where analysis and model development improve and automate decision-making. |
